Kigali, Rwanda – 19 March 2026
Rwanda’s financial sector marked another milestone with the CFA Charter holders Recognition & Networking Gala Dinner, held at the Kigali Marriott Hotel. The event brought together regulators, financial institutions, investors, academia, and finance professionals to celebrate excellence and strengthen connections across the ecosystem.
The evening recognized Rwanda’s growing community of CFA Charterholders, professionals who have completed one of the most rigorous qualifications in finance and their role in shaping a globally competitive financial sector.
In her opening remarks, Hortense Mudenge, CEO of Kigali International Financial Centre (KIFC), recognized the courage of Charter holders
“Tonight, we recognize professionals who have undertaken one of the most rigorous journeys in finance and are shaping a globally competitive financial sector,” said Hortense Mudenge, CEO of KIFC. She emphasized that skilled, ethical, and globally competitive professionals are at the core of Rwanda’s vision to position Kigali as an international financial centre.
Ulrich Kayinamura, CEO of Agaciro Development Fund, underscored the importance of connecting financial expertise to real-world dynamics, noting that finance must be understood within the broader context of geopolitics and global economic shifts.
Rwanda’s CFA journey continues to gain strong momentum. From just four CFA Charterholders in the country prior to the establishment of KIFC, the number has grown significantly to 30 over the past five years, alongside a pipeline of 125 candidates across East Africa. This steady growth reflects sustained investment in professional development, supported by KIFC and its ecosystem partners, as highlighted by CFA Society President John Okumu.
CFA Charter holders also expressed appreciation to KIFC and partners for their continued support and for championing the growth of the CFA program and professional development in Rwanda.
Beyond recognition, the event served as a platform to connect talent with opportunity, fostering collaboration between employers and finance professionals while encouraging mentorship and career growth.
The Gala Dinner reaffirmed KIFC’s commitment to advancing professional excellence, strengthening partnerships, and positioning Rwanda as a competitive and future-ready financial hub.
