Janet AKAYENZI is the Sustainable Finance Lead at Rwanda Finance Limited, the company promoting and developing Rwanda as a leading financial destination for international investment and cross-border transactions in Africa.
Janet is a professional Environmental Manager, and Consultant in various fields such as Environment, Climate Change, Food Security, Agriculture, Energy, and Water.
Prior to joining Rwanda Finance, Janet was the Chief Sustainability Officer for MyHydro, a new low-cost, mini-grid platform that aims to provide affordable, renewable energy where it is needed most. She also served as the Energy and Climate Change Expert for Africa Energy Services Group, an independent organization focused on renewable and clean energy for African countries.
Janet holds an MSc in Environmental Change and Management from the University of Oxford and a BA in Environmental Studies with a minor in Environmental Health, from Spelman College.
