Rwanda at COP29: Showcase of Rwanda’s National Climate and Nature Finance Strategy

At COP 29, Team Rwanda held an event to showcase Rwanda’s National Climate and Nature Finance Strategy (CNFS) launched in October 2024.

The Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, brought together experts to discuss innovative mechanisms of mobilizing climate finance at speed and scale. This session engaged an international audience in an interactive format, offering insights into the CNFS’s implementation.

During this session, our Chief Strategy Officer, Hortense Mudenge, highlighted Rwanda’s journey as a hub for sustainable investments.

Participation in COP 29 showcased the Kigali International Financial Centre as an emerging regional hub for sustainable finance. It also facilitated networking and active engagement with potential investors and financial actors, supporting efforts in investment attraction and setup.

The CNFS, showcased at COP 29, is a comprehensive blueprint designed to mobilize and channel financial resources toward initiatives in climate adaptation, mitigation, and nature conservation. This strategy fosters innovative financial mechanisms that drive Rwanda’s green transition.
